At Aurora FC, we are committed to developing high-level goalkeepers through a specialized performance training program designed to support players throughout the club’s competitive pathway.
The Goalkeeper Training Program is open to all Grassroots, Competitive and OPDL goalkeepers within the club, providing a structured and progressive environment focused on technical excellence, tactical understanding, and match readiness.
The program is led by Don Ferguson, holder of the Ontario Soccer Goalkeeping Diploma and former goalkeeper for the Canadian Men’s National Team.
Our goal is to develop confident, technically sound, and tactically intelligent goalkeepers who are prepared to perform in competitive matches and progress through the Aurora FC development pathway.
Footwork, handling, diving, high balls, positioning, distribution, and communication.
Balance, coordination, speed, agility, endurance, strength, and flexibility.
Confidence under pressure, resilience, decision-making, concentration, discipline, and leadership.
Game understanding, organizing the defence, initiating attacks, commanding the penalty area, and set-piece preparation.
Goalkeepers are more than the last line of defence — they are leaders, communicators, and difference-makers who influence every phase of the game.
Under the guidance of Don Ferguson, Aurora FC goalkeepers are supported in reaching their full potential and preparing to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
